CAPTURES THE REGION X FLAG
(9/25/09)
The last Region X tournament was held at East Bay in Provo
yesterday. Park City shot a school record 287 on a par
(72) course with help from some impressive rounds by the
varsity players. We have had different players step up
all season, and yesterday was no exception. Two of our
team leaders shot under par again. Jack Burrus shot the
tournament low with a 69 (-3), followed by Michael Coopman
with a 70(-2). Ryan Kearns was not far behind with a
73(+1) and both Ethan Eisenbarth and Justin Schluker both
shot 75(+3). East Bay was the site of the 2004 state
tournament, where Park City won the state championship in
a playoff against Ogden. As a team, Park City finished
the year by shooting a team total of 1,776, which was 109
strokes better than second place Carbon. Park City also
had six players finish in the top 10 in the overall
individual standings. Congratulations to the team for a
successful sweep of all six tournaments in Region X this
season. |
